Description	:	Gloria J. Wick, 72, of Omaha, died Monday, September 5, 2016 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center after a lengthy illness from kidney disease. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, September 10th at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Kearney. Fr. Alex Borzych will officiate. Wick was born September 25, 1943 in Kearney to Francis and Thelma (Jameson) Fellows. She graduated from Amherst High School in 1961 followed by the Central Business College of Denver. Her first job was with the Denver Public Schools. Gloria married Larry Wick on October 12, 1963 and they have one son Brian. Over the years they lived in various cities including Denver, CO, Holt, MO, and Omaha, NE. Gloria was an avid cook, baker, gardener, and card player who loved to entertain family and friends. For several years she baked and decorated wedding cakes and was well known by nieces, nephews, and kids in the neighborhood as the “cookie lady”. Many hours were spent teaching nieces how to bake and decorate sugar cookies as well as cooking and baking during the holidays and special occasions for family and friends. During the early years, many a night were spent playing cards with family and later participating in several neighborhood card clubs. A look in our cupboards will confirm her title as the “Tupperware Queen”, and for several years she was recognized as one of Denver’s top sales ladies. Following the family’s move to Omaha, news of her cooking and baking skills got her volunteered for three years as the “Chief Cook and Bottle Washer” for the priests of St. Gerald’s Catholic Church in Omaha. Gloria always loved gardening, especially tending to her flowers in spring, berries in summer, and making plans for the next years’ garden. Of all her activities, she was best known as the life of the party and for having and making crazy fun. She was always the focal point of family get-togethers and often functioned on little sleep having stayed up late baking, cooking, or planning some crazy game or activity she dreamed up! Gloria is survived by her husband, Larry and son Brian, both of Omaha. Brothers Gordon (Jody) of Overland Park, KS and Garth of Kearney, NE. Sisters Gaylene Else (Rodney) of Brighton, CO and Geraldine Bamford (Reno) of Roca, NE. Brothers and Sisters-In-Laws Don Wick (Gaylene), Arlene Clark (Charlie), Mary Gray, Dan Wick (Denise), Ron Wick and Virginia Evans, Lois Smith, Tom Wick (Barb), Ed Wick, Lena Jo Rouse, Christine May (Kent). Gloria has 39 nieces and nephews, 62 great nieces and nephews, and 1 great great nephew. Gloria was preceded in death by two infant boys, her nephew Nathan Fellows, niece Amber Bamford, and sister-in-law Patricia Neubauer.
