| Description | : | Godfrey was a stone cutter by trade. He came to Pennsylvania by way of Glascow, Scotland with three brothers. One stayed in PA and the other came with him to Camden, SC, to work on the construction of the US Military Academy, which was to be built in the area. The Congress defeated the proposition by one vote, in 1802 and it was built at West Point.
