Description	:	Golan H. Cobb, age 87, of Russellville, died Friday, June 27, 2003 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born December 19, 1915, at Dover, Arkansas and was a son of the late Almous Charles and Viola Johnson Cobb. He taught school at Pless and Moreland communities in Pope County and worked for the Pope County School Supervisor's office, prior to serving in the U. S. Army during World War II. Cobb, age 87, of Russellville, died Friday, June 27, 2003 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born December 19, 1915, at Dover, Arkansas and was a son of the late Almous Charles and Viola Johnson Cobb. He taught school at Pless and Moreland communities in Pope County and worked for the Pope County School Supervisor's office, prior to serving in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a retired Price Support Specialist for the Department of Agriculture. He was an elder in the Presbyterian Church, USA for over fifty years and was a member and elder of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Russellville, where he was Sunday school teacher for the Friendship Sunday school class and was honored with the Christian Educator of the Year award. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Arkansas Chapter 27, the Paris Masonic Lodge 378, and a fifty-year member of the Grand Lodge of State of Arkansas. Other than his parents, his wife, De Lois Vick Cobb, an infant daughter, Shirley DeAnna Cobb and a sister, Zella Mae Curry, preceded him in death. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Calvin and Jacque Cobb of Ruston, Louisiana; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Bill Clement of Atkins; a brother and sister-in-law, Doyle and Glenna Cobb of Dover; three grandchildren, Nickolas Cobb of Russellville, Kacie Clement of Atkins and Sarah Phillips of Ruston, Louisana; a niece, Jana Reidy of Palm Harbor, Florida and a nephew, Richard Cobb of Pensacola, Florida. Funeral service will be 2 P. M., Monday, June 30, at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Steve Mosley and Rev. Norlan Scrudder officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery, near Pottsville, by Shinn Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Nickolas Cobb, David Cox, Gene Williams, Gearl Cooper, Carroll Norris, Tommy Kinslow and Calvin Riedel. Honorary pallbearers are Don Geier, Glen Powell, Dr. Andrew Monfee and Dr. Jack Sternberg. Obituary provided by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville
