She was born August 15, 1914 near Boydsville, Arkansas to the late William (Bill) and Rhonda (Chilcutt) Reed. She was the third of seven children. She was married to T. Bennie Parmenter, October 18, 1931. They were married 68 years, until his death in 2000. Survived by: her children: J.W. Her grandchildren: Vickie Myers (Scott), Bob Ericson, Bill Ericson (Sandy), Brenda Deertz (Eric) and Amy Brown (Bryan). Her great-grandchildren: Jennifer Mooneyhan, Taylor Ericson (Sam), Sara McCormic (Jeremy), Lauren Ericson, and Seth Brown. Her great-great grandchildren: Jacob Mooneyhan and Max Ericson,. Her sisters: Corine Simpson and Vergine Thompson along with a host of other friends and relatives. Goldie spent most of her life as a Methodist's minister wife following Bennie, her husband, from church to church as they moved around central to northeast Arkansas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rector, Arkansas. Her joy in life was working and loving her family and giving of herself to others. This made her a great preacher's wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her yard work (flowers), gardening, canning, sewing, wildlife, cooking, family and above all grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson: Randy Parmenter, great-great granddaughter: Randi Lynn Mooneyhan, two brothers: Silas Reed and Thomas Reed and two sisters: Duel Simpson and Marie Herren. Visitation is Friday, August 6 starting at 6:00 p.m. at Irby Funeral Home in Rector. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Rector. Interment will be at the Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.
