He passed away swiftly and unexpectedly in a tragic airplane accident close to his home at Crooked Creek, Alberta, on April 24, 2000. He reached the age of thirty-three years. Gordon grew to manhood in Crooked Creek, Alberta, living in the same log house his father grew up in. He was a cheerful, sunny person who easily made friends. At the tender age of thirteen years, Gordon heard the call of the Lord and gave his heart to God. Upon the confession of his faith, he was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on September 7, 1980, by Min. Joe Isaac. He encountered trials and struggles in his Christian life; however, the last weeks of his life he was noticeably happy. We trust his soul to the hands of our loving God who does all things well. Gordon married me, Penny Isaac, on July 30, 1989, at Crooked Creek, Alberta. Min. Lorne Thiessen married us. We experienced the joys and sorrows of life for over ten years. Three precious children were born into our home. He enjoyed farming and being close to the land. He was a helpful friend and neighbor, always ready with a helping hand. Left to cherish precious memories are me, his sorrowing wife, Penny; our children: Chelsea Jade, eight; Tiffany Starr, six; and Sterling Alfred, nineteen months; his mother and stepfather, Ruth and Ed Boese, Edberg, Alberta; his sisters and brother: Joan Reimer, Crooked Creek, Alberta; Irene and Byron Loewen, Neilburg, Saskatchewan; Marvin and Lola Reimer, Crooked Creek, Alberta; and Nancy and Lynn Isaac, Hythe, Alberta; his parents-in-law, Harvey and Phyllis Isaac, Crooked Creek, Alberta; his brothers- and sisters-in-law: Karen and Jerry Toews, Crooked Creek, Alberta; Brenda and Renaldo Wiebe, Swanson, Saskatchewan; Jolene, Larry, and Ryan Isaac, Crooked Creek, Alberta; his stepbrothers and stepsisters: Maynard and Viola Boese, Harold and Valerie Boese, Irma and Pat Nichols, Fern and Eric Unruh, Alice and John Boese, Gladys and Robert Smith, Phyllis and James Penner, Eileen and Brent Haynes, Calvin and Cheryl Boese; a special cousin, Stan and Laurette Reimer; plus many more relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father. Funeral services were held on April 28, 2000, at the Rosedale Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Crooked Creek, Alberta. Ministers Trevor Penner, Adin Klassen, Dennis Toews, and Lee Wohlgemuth conducted the service. Burial was in the Rosedale Cemetery, Crooked Creek, Alberta. Min. Ed Boese officiated.
