Preceded in death by parents; Athol and Velva Cooper. Gordon was born October 21, 1931 in Cardston, Alberta, raised and schooled in Raymond. He attended Brigham Young University and spent his extensive career with Canada Packers, Husky Oil and others. He loved to build and renovate and spent countless hours helping family and friends with projects. Gordon served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Johannesburg, South Africa and later served in many church positions such as teacher, youth leader and bishopric member. Gordon married his soul mate Judith L. Anderson of New Dayton, Alberta and was sealed in the Cardston Temple. Gordon will be remembered by his family for the many sacrifices he made for them throughout his life. His unconditional love and commitment to his family will never be forgotten. Whether through his church service, his friendships or his career relationships, Gordon always had a positive impact on the lives of others. His presence was always felt and will be forever cherished. Friends may meet the family on Friday, October 9 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Christensen Salmon Funeral Home, 327-10 Street South, Lethbridge, or prior to the service at the church from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Knight Street Chapel, Raymond, with Bishop Darryl Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.
