Description	:	Gordon Howard Beard, age 92 of Monroe, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Hospice of Pella Comfort House. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Gordon graduated from Colfax High School in 1944. On September 27, 1953, he was united in marriage to Joyce Spegal. He was a 70+ year member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Gordon worked at Van Ryswyk Plumbing and Heating for over 40 years. He was a member of the Flutter Wheels Square Dancers and enjoyed reading and traveling. Those left to honor his memory include his three sons, Randy, Tim (Kim), and Melvin (Norma); six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ardythe. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Darlene, in 2010.
