Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 9, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 273. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 8, at Kingery Funeral Home, Bellevue. Friends also may call after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home until procession to the church. Friends also may call after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home until procession to the church. He was born on Sept. 27, 1916, in Bellevue, son of Louis and Mary (Deichelbohrer) Petesch. He married Bendina Tebbe on June 3, 1941, in Springbrook; she preceded him in death on Aug. 3, 2008. Gordon served the Army during World War II and proudly farmed most of his adult life. He was a member of the American Legion and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Gordon enjoyed working, playing cards and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed. Those left to honor his memory are a son, Daniel Petesch, of Bellevue; a daughter, Mary (Kevin) Maher, of De Witt; three grandchildren, Ryan (Melisa), Brandon (Trista) and Benjamin Maher; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Brooke and Nicole Maher; a sister, Vera Herrig, of Bellevue; two brothers, Roland Petesch, of Bellevue, and Ronald (Lois) Petesch, of Hanover, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews. He also was preceded in death by his parents.
