He came to America in 1904 and settled in South Dakota. Regina Hochhalter was born in Rohrbach, South Russia, a daughter of Frederick Hochhalter and Regina Moos. Regina and Gottlieb were married in 1905; they had 17 children; six died in infancy. He came to America in 1904 and settled in South Dakota. Regina Hochhalter was born in Rohrbach, South Russia, a daughter of Frederick Hochhalter and Regina Moos. Regina and Gottlieb were married in 1905; they had 17 children; six died in infancy. The family lived on several farms south of Elgin before relocating to the Heart River Community, one mile east of the Skretteberg farm. They lived on that farm for 17 years and in 1942 moved to Hayden Lake, Idaho. In Idaho, Gottlieb was employed at the Farragut Navel Base, Athol, Idaho. Children include: Marie Bachmann born October 11, 1907, at Fleak, North Dakota, died October 08, 1975, married Leo Flitsch they had seven children Lydia Bachmann born March 11, 1909, at Fleak, North Dakota, died 1966, married Ted Miller they had eight children August Bachmann born August 17, 1910, died July 13, 1981, married Adella Hillius, they had five children Otto Bachmann born August 27, 1912, died 1993, and is interred at Missoula, Montana, married Irma Zeller, they had nine children Ida Bachmann born March 22, 1916, at Elgin, North Dakota, died June 14, 2004, at Aberdeen, South Dakota, married August Nishek, they had nine children Esther Susanna Bachmann born January 09, 1918, in North Dakota, died December 16, 1995, in Marion County, Oregon, married Jack Scorgie, they had one son Leonard Bachmann born June 01, 1919, married Evelyne Timpe Ruth Bachmann born March 24, 1921, married Herman Sundler, lived in Idaho Rose Bachmann born May 10, 1923, in North Dakota, married Frank McHenry, lived at Bozeman, Montana Martha Bachmann born November 10, 1924, in North Dakota, married (1) Leo Bahm married (2) Hagel, lived Polson, Montana Elsie Bachmann November 06, 1926, in North Dakota, married Everett Ettles, lived in Arizona
