Read More	GOTTLOB BAESSLER DIED SATURDAY Gottlob Baessler died at his home last Saturday, October 3rd, 1925, at 3 o'clock p.m., at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 14 days. The final cause of his death was cancer, from which he had been suffering for some months, but he had been ill health from the effects of rheumatism for the past nine years. Gottlob Baessler was born in Stuttgardt, Germany, on Jan. 19, 1849. He was married there in 1879 to Miss Johanna Schoenhardt, and with their two children they came to America in 1866 (1886?), living for awhile with his brother Fred Braessler on the farm east of Livermore. Later he bought his father's farm in that vicinity, two miles west of Hardy, where they lived and farmed until 1914, when they retired and removed to Livermore, purchasing the residence in which he ended his days. Mr. Baessler's parents, who came to this country, died here, the mother being buried in the cemetery near Renwick, and the father dying later of heart failure while on a visit to Philadelphia, and was buried there. There were born to Mr. and Mrs. Baessler three children: Gustav, at LuVerne, Pauline, here with the family, and Karl, who died at the age of 22 years. Besides the wife, he is survived by one brother, Fred of Livermore, and one sister, Mrs. Fred Ernst of Humboldt. Deceased was a member of the German Lutheran church, and a quiet, unassuming citizen, and a good husband, father and neighbor, respected by all who knew him. Funeral services were held from the residence at 1 o'clock last Monday, and from the Lutheran church in LuVerne at 2 p.m., conducted by the pastor, Rev. P. Braner. Among those in attendance from abroad were Carl Benz and wife of Ceylon, Minn., and Louis Steifel of Fort Dodge, besides a number from Humboldt and surrounding towns, and also from Livermore. The pall bearers were Chris Hoffmann, Gottlieb Gronbach, Geo. Hohenberger, August Pergundy, Mr. Eisler and Mr. Grimshel. Burial took place in the Union cemetery at LuVerne.
