Grace was a member of the Little River Baptist Church and also a life member of the Little River Baptist Ladies Circle. She was a life member of the Pythian Sisters Cedar Temple #21, Oxford. Born in Carrington, Cumberland County, Grace was a daughter of the late Laurie and Maude (McLeod) Casey. Grace was a member of the Little River Baptist Church and also a life member of the Little River Baptist Ladies Circle. She was a life member of the Pythian Sisters Cedar Temple #21, Oxford. Grace enjoyed singing and was a part of the "Little River Quartet", in which she sang with three of her sisters. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and caring for children over the years. Grace is survived by her daughters, Karen, Little River; Wendy, Halifax; son, Roger, Sherbrooke; sisters, Margaret MacIntosh, Oxford; Marie Casey, Truro; Jean (Vernon) Mitchell, Oxford; Shelia (Darrell} Thompson, Leicester; brothers, Claude (Orpha), Kolbec; Donald (Betty), Port Howe; grandchildren, Matthew (April); Travis (Robin); Barret (Stephanie); Trina (Leif); Brittany (Danny); great-grandchildren, Haley, Ashtin and Hayden. She was predeceased by her husband Carmen; son, Thomas; sisters, Dorothy Dixon, Mildred Kennedy, and Marilyn Casey; brothers, Elwin, Arthur, Carl, Earl, and Jack. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, June 6 in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, 5075 Main Street, Oxford (447-2930). Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 7 in Oxford Baptist Church, with Rev. Karen Doucette officiating. The family has requested a scent-free environment for the visitation and funeral service. Donations may be made to Little River Baptist Memorial Fund or Birch Grove Cemetery.
