Died at 12:25 p.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Hospital. She had been in failing health for several years. Mrs. Rempe, a resident of Fort Madison for 70 years, was born July 24, 1889, in Griswold. She was married to William F Rempe here in 1906. He died on April 13. 1934. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a rest home resident for several years. Survivors include a son Edward, at home; two daughters Teresa Davison, at home, and Mrs Ray (Margaret) Kern, of Fort Madison; two brothers, Grant and August Besser of Fort Madison, two half-sisters Mrs. Clara Bailey of Fort Madison and Mrs. Louise Railsback of California; four grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, a son and a daughter. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Church with the Rev Ernest Braida officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. The parish will recite the rosary at 7:30 p.m. today in the Hall Funeral Home. Tombstone inscription in Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison IA, provided by Roger Rempe, great-grandson.
