Read More	Grace Elizabeth Schubert, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at her home in Wilcox, Nebraska following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Grace was born November 25, 1930 on the family farm northeast of Loomis in Phelps County, Nebraska, the youngest of three children born to Will w. and Della a. (Johnson) Lyon. Grace was dedicated and confirmed at the Holcomb Evangelical Free Church north of Holdrege, Nebraska. Grace was raised in a loving Christian home and came to know the Lord as she accepted Jesus as her savior at a young age. Her faith was evident throughout her life. She attended Ash Grove country school through the eighth grade and then graduated from Loomis (NE.) High School with the class of 1948. Grace then attended Grand Island (Ne.) Business College and returned to Holdrege, Nebraska to work at the ASC office and First Security Bank. Grace was united in marriage to Clayton Schubert on August 8, 1958 at Holcomb Evangelical Free Church north of Holdrege, Nebraska. To this union three children were born: Mark, David and Linda who were the light of their life. They made their home on the family farm south of Wilcox, Nebraska where they engaged in farming and livestock. In 1992, Clayton and Grace moved into Wilcox, Nebraska where she resided until her passing. Grace's heart was broken in 1995, following the loss of their son, Mark Schubert. The family finds great comfort, despite their sorrow in knowing they are reunited once again in heaven. Over the years, Grace found much enjoyment in her kitchen. She often shared her baked goods with friends and family. Grace was well known for her angel food cakes and cookies. With her giving heart, Grace found great enjoyment when she was helping others. She also loved tending to her flower garden, especially raising and sharing her gladiolas. Grace was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hildreth, Nebraska for many years, until the three Hildreth churches merged and became Trinity Lutheran Church, Hildreth, Nebraska. She was devoted to the women's ministries and children's activities at church. She was also a member of the Wilcox Lioness Club, the Wilcox Women's Chamber of Commerce, and later in years she was involved with the Gideon's Auxiliary. Most of all, Grace loved the time spent with her family. She adored her grandchildren, and was a very important part of their lives. Besides: parents and son, Mark Schubert; she was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Donald Springer. Grace leaves to mourn her passing; husband, Clayton Schubert of Wilcox, Nebraska; son, David Schubert of Wilcox, Nebraska and his special friend, Diane Kelly of Naponee, Nebraska; daughter, Linda Harms and her husband, John of Martell, Nebraska; grandchildren: Benjamin, Emily and Luke Harms all of Martell, Nebraska; brothers: LaMonte Lyon and his wife, Barbara of Loomis, Nebraska and Kenneth Lyon of Kearney, Nebraska; sisters-in-law: Kathleen Springer of Clay Center, Nebraska, Delores Carlson and her husband, Franklin of Elm Creek, Nebraska and Marjean Schultz and her husband, Max of Oxford, Nebraska and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral Services for Grace E. Schubert were held on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Hildreth, Nebraska with Pastors Steve and Patti Byrne officiating. Interment was in Wilcox Cemetery, Wilcox, Nebraska.
