Corbin of Coburg, a former resident of New Market, passed away last Thursday, April 18, 1929, after a lingering illness of several months. The remains were brought to New Market for burial in Memory cemetery, Sunday, the funeral being conducted in Shenandoah on account of the impassable condition of the roads making it impossible to bring the body here for the services. Grace Elfie Herriman, daughter of Margaret and Charles Herriman, was born Oct 18, 1880, at Shambaugh, Ia, and died April 18, 1929, at her home in Coburg, Ia, at the age of 48 years, and 6 months. She came with her parents to New Market when about eight years old and resided here until her marriage to L.D. Corbin on Dec 25, 1898. Shortly after her marriage she and her husband moved to Nishawaka, Ind, and about sixteen years ago they moved to Shenandoah, Ia, where they resided until two years ago when they moved to Coburg. She is survived by her husband and six children, Mrs Pansy Butts of Scotts Bluffs, Nebr, Mrs Vesta Kent of Minatare, Nebr, Mrs Cordia Miller, Mrs Lillian Bromley, Miss Garland Corbin and Lazell Corbin, all of Coburg, all of whom were at her bedside at the time of her passing. She also leaves four brothers, B.F. Herriman of Farragut, Ia, F.A. and V.L. Herriman of Compton, Cal, and O.A. Herriman of Lenox, Ia; three sisters, Mrs E.L. Green of New Market, Ia, Mrs Fred Dunkin of Gravity, Ia, and Mrs Cecil Groeling of Bellflower, Calif, besides other relatives and a large circle of friends. Deceased was converted when a child and later united with the Methodist church at Shenandoah. For six months she was a very patient sufferer and was ready to go when her Master called. She had said she was going where there was no sorrow or suffering. She was a kind, loving wife and mother, and a good neighbor and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. It had been decided to hold the funeral services in New Market, the home of her childhood, but the condition of the roads prevented this and the services were conducted at the M.E. church in Shenandoah in charge of Rev Goodwin. Burial was made in Memory cemetery. Many friends in New Market extend kindest sympathy to the sorrowing relatives in their bereavement. CLARINDA JOURNAL, Clarinda, Iowa, Apr 29, 1929
