Description	:	Grace Crawford, the daughter of David and Wilhelmina Nowack Hafer, was born December 5, 1912 near Phillips, Nebraska. Her death occurred at Omaha, Nebraska on January 16, 1978, during surgery. She was 65 years, 1 month and 11 days of age. Her childhood was spent in the Phillips community where she received her education in the public schools and graduated from the Phillips High School. Read More	Grace Crawford, the daughter of David and Wilhelmina Nowack Hafer, was born December 5, 1912 near Phillips, Nebraska. Her death occurred at Omaha, Nebraska on January 16, 1978, during surgery. She was 65 years, 1 month and 11 days of age. Her childhood was spent in the Phillips community where she received her education in the public schools and graduated from the Phillips High School. On June 2, 1935 she was united in marriage to Elbert Crawford at Aurora. Ten children were born to them, nine of whom survive. The Crawfords resided in Hamilton and Hall Counties before moving to Clay County in 1965. Mrs. Crawford was a member of the Christian Church. She was preceded in death by one infant son, James Earl Crawford on April 29, 1944, her parents, one brother, Elmer Hafer and one infant sister, Hazel Marie. Her survivors include her husband, Elbert of Saronville, Nebraska; six sons, Larey, Jack, Richard and Craig all of Phillips, Keith of Stockham and Monte of Grand Island; three daughters, Susan Crawford and Mrs. Elberta Scott of Farmersville, California and Mrs. Karen Ottman of Fairfield, Nebraska; two brothers, Merle Hafer of Hastings and Homer Hafer of Waubleau, Missouri; three sisters, Mrs. Lilah Brewer and Mrs. Marlene Guthrie both of St. Joseph, Missouri and Mrs. Dorothy Esposito of Magalia, California; 18 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and other relatives and close friends.
