Description	:	Funeral services for Grace G. Baumeister, age 78, of Lemmon, SD, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Lemmon. Pastor Ken Miller will officiate with burial at Greenhill Cemetery in Lemmon. Special music will be provided by Marilyn Willey. Grace Geraldine Smebakken was born on June 2, 1932, to Gilbert and Lodie (Spilde) Smebakken at Shadehill, SD. She attended grade school at Burdick, West Roosevelt and Hillside Schools and graduated from Lemmon High School in 1951. On May 29, 1951 she was united in marriage to Buelis Baumeister in Lemmon. In August of 1951 Buelis left for the U.S. Army, and Grace attended Greene's Beauty College in Rapid City, SD, graduating in May of 1952. Grace returned to Lemmon and worked at the Style Beauty Salon with Rueben and Dickie Shroeder. She then opened her own shop, "Grace's Beauty Shop" in her home. In June of 1961, Grace and Buelis moved to Burke, SD, where Buelis was a manager at the Fullerton Lumber Company. Grace also opened a beauty shop in her home, and continued doing cosmetology work for nine years. They returned to Lemmon, SD, in January of 1970 and Grace again, began working out of her home as a beautician. She did cosmetology and beautician work for over 50 years. Grace was baptized and confirmed at the Rosebud Lutheran Church near Shadehill, SD. She passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at her home in Lemmon, SD. Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Shari (Ralph) Lyon, Meadow, SD; two sons, Jason (Annette) Baumeister, Piedmont, SD, and Kelly (Jodi) Baumeister, Evans, CO; seven grandchildren, Tobi Lyon, Jade Lyon, Quincy (Beki) Baumeister, Tyler Baumeister, Haden Baumeister, Shelbi Baumeister and Austin Baumeister; two great-grandsons, Arkadian Baumeister and Draken Baumeister; two brothers, Albert Smebakken, Gillette, WY and Max Smebakken, Shadehill, SD; and two brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law, Edwin and Eva Baumeister, Pahrump, NV, James and Jean Baumeister, Cedar Falls, IA, and Barbara Baumeister, Moxee, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Buelis Baumeister; two brothers, Daniel Earl Smebakken, in infancy and Glenn "Bud" Smebakken; and three sisters, June Hoffman, Izola Evanson, and Patsy Morgan. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon and one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.
