Description	:	SCOTT, GRACE J.—Grace J. Scott was born on a farm near Ohiowa, Neb., November 12, 1883, the oldest child of Andrew and Martha Shiells. Scott was born on a farm near Ohiowa, Neb., November 12, 1883, the oldest child of Andrew and Martha Shiells. She passed away at Geneva, April 15, 1952, at the age of 68 years, 5 months and 3 days. Most of her life was spent in Fillmore county. December 24, 1903, she was married in Geneva to Ray W. Scott. A few years ago they retired from the farm and moved to Geneva. To this union were born two children, Darrell and Norma (Mrs. Ed. McCluskey) both of Geneva. She had suffered from arthritis for 15 years, the last six of which had been spent in bed. During the entire period she had remained very cheerful and uncomplaining. She leaves to mourn her death besides her husband, her son and daughter, a grandson, John McCluskey, who is attending Rutgers university in new Brunswick, N. J., a sister-in-law, Myrtle Scott, a brother, John Lewis, half-brothers, Jim and Will Lewis, Wesley Miller, Ora, Harry and Floyd Tonkinson and many other relatives and friends. Her father and mother and a half-sister, May Westbrook, preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at the Hrubesky-Farmer funeral home Friday, April 18, at 2 p. m. Rev. Norman Smitheram, pastor of Grace Methodist church in Fairmont, officiated, Ralph Reemts, soloist, sang "I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say" and "The Lord's Prayers." Norva Reemts was accompanist. Pallbearers were John Harrington, Joe Miller, Gus Schneider, Allen Strothkamp, Earl Verry and Francis Weinerth. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. Among those from out of town who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. John Lewis and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Woolhizer and Lila from Springview, Neb., and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Day form Red Cloud, Neb.
