Read More	SD, passed away December 9, 2015, in Hartford, SD. She was 96. Grace LaVonne (Roth) Dieken was born on a farm east of Hartford, SD, on March 9, 1919. She grew up on a farm north of Hartford and attended Ginsbach School District 104. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1937. Grace married William Dieken on January 4, 1939, at Hartford. They farmed north of Hartford their entire life. Grace also worked for the West Central School lunch program for 24 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Happy Gals Card Club and a 4-H Leader. She was a member of the Hartford United Methodist Church since 1938, and was active in Circle 2 and the United Methodist Women. A big part of her life was sending cards to her friends and relatives over many years. For several years, Grace was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins. Survivors include one son, Melvin; a daughter, LaVonne, both of Hartford, SD; plus many nieces, nephews, and friends. The family requests that memorials be directed to the Hartford United Methodist Church, Compassionate Care Hospice, or the charity of your choice. The family will be present to greet friends and relatives from 5 to 7 pm Friday, December 11, 2015, at the Miller Funeral Home Hartford Chapel, 600 South Western Avenue. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at the Hartford United Methodist Church with burial at the Hartford City Cemetery.
