The daughter of Charles H. and Susan Teeter Manning, she was born in Jeferson (sic. Jefferson) County April 21, 1906. She had been a resident of the Highland Center community many years prior to moving to Ottumwa seven years ago. Mrs. Sharp was a member of Libertyville Church of the Brethren. Her marriage to Walter G. Sharp took place Nov. 3, 1923 in Jefferson County. He survives. Also surviving are one son, Spec. 5.C Kenneth Sharp, of the U.S. Army in Germany; one daughter, Mrs. Eve Van Beck of Ottumwa; six grandchildren; one brother, Glenn Manning in Jefferson County and two sisters, Mrs. Harriett Headley in Jefferson County and Mrs. Kathryn Paris in Missouri. Preceding her in death were a daughter, Kathryn, March 28, 1964; a granddaughter and two sisters. Maple who died at her home Friday night, will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Chapel. Minister Raymond Lyon of Pennsylvania Avenue Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Brethren Cemetery southeast of Batavia. Pallbearers will be Glenn Hupp, Paul Kesselring, Harry and Earl Sheets, Verl Paxton and Kenneth Lewis.
