Duffield, 66, Route 2, Valley Falls. She died Aug 6, 1987, at her home after an apparent heart attack. Mrs. Duffield was a postal clerk at the Valley Falls Post Office for over 26 years until she retired in December 1984. She received a commendation from the United States Postal Service for her perfect attendance record in 1983. She previously was a secretary for Hall's Stationary in Topeka, and worked at the State Bank of Meriden. She was born Aug. 13, 1920, at Meriden, the daughter of Elver and Etta Sayles Clark. She graduated from Meriden High School in 1939 and attended Washburn College in Topeka. In 1945 she moved to the Bolton community southeast of Valley Falls. Mrs. Duffield was a member of Calvary Baptist Church at Valley Falls, where she taught primary Sunday school class many years and was active in the women's missionsary society. She was also a member and president of the Valley Falls YWCA, a member of the Better Homes Unit, and of the Grahem-Herbers Post No. 3084, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary all at Valley Falls. She was married to Leo Carrol Call on March 12, 1942, at Valley Falls. He died June 26, 1953. She married John F. Duffield on May 16, 1960, at Valley Falls. He survives. A granddaughter, Janelle Sue Mitchell, died March 7, 1977. Other survivors include three sons, the Rev. Galen Call, Shoreview, Minn., Steven Call, Wamego; two daughters, Mrs. Susan Mitchell, Valley Falls, and Lori Duffield, Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Bill Clark, Topeka, Clifford Clark, Sedalia, Mo., and George Clark, Leavenworth; and 12 grandchildren. Pastor Jon Booyd, Calvary Baptist Church, Valley Falls, officiated at the funeral service. Organist was Mrs. Ed Hofstra with vocalists Ed Hofstra and Mrs. Tim Crouch. Casket bearers were Ronald Bacon, Lee Tichenor, Danny Akin, Richard Ribelin, Charles Autry, and Larry Langston. Burial was in Valley Falls Cemetery.
