Read More	Legacy.com; Obituary of Grace Gordon McDuffee: Grace Gordon McDuffee - KITTERY, Makine -- Grace Gordon McDuffee, 92, formerly a long-time resident of Kittery and Eliot, died on April 4, 2013 at The Edgewood Centre in Portsmouth, NH, following a period of failing health. She was a daughter of Forrest M. and Josephine L.(Hersom) Abbott born in Springvale, Maine, on May 27, 1920. She attended the local schools including high school in Waterboro. She met and married her husband Donald E. Gordon and together they made a home and raised their family in Kittery. She worked for a number of years in quality control at Diaphragm Industries. She also worked at Watts Fluid Power in the payroll office, and she worked at The Edgewood Centre in Portsmouth. Following the death of her husband, Donald, Grace later met and married Charles " Bill " McDuffee and together they lived for many years in Eliot and enjoyed boating. Later in life she made her home near family in Lincoln, and from 2004-2012 she lived at Meeting House Village and Kittery Estates. While in Lincoln, her special companions were her two dogs, Boots and Rascal. Grace enjoyed membership in the "Harbor Belles" chorus group and was in a bowling league. She was also an avid Boston Celtics fan. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, rug hooking, which she taught, and was also a talented painter. She shared many of her works with family. She is survived by: her children, son Bill and his wife Carla Gordon of Eliot, daughter Nancy and her husband Reggie Hustus of Lincoln, son Richard and his wife Sharon Gordon of Newmarket, NH, and daughter Janice Maloney of Enfield, Conn.; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; a brother, Forrest Abbott Jr. of Waterboro; and a sister Beatrice MacDonald of Hollis, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands and two brothers, Robert and Clinton Abbott. The family wishes to thank Pat Ramsey and the staff of the South Wing at The Edgewood Centre in Portsmouth for their care of our mother. A funeral will be celebrated in her church, the Eliot United Methodist Church on Route 236 in Eliot, on Wednesday at 10 am. Friends may visit with Grace's family on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home in Kittery. Request family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the , 383 US Route One, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074; or the .
