Description	:	Grady Alexander Eudy, 78, of Jefferson, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 3rd 2015. He was born October 12, 1936 in Union County. He was the oldest son of Segal Alexander Eudy and Barbara Lucille Morgan Eudy. He was born October 12, 1936 in Union County. He was the oldest son of Segal Alexander Eudy and Barbara Lucille Morgan Eudy. Grady is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Eva “Lois” Short Eudy and two children; daughter, Annette Carpenter and husband Jamie of Harrisburg, NC and son Dennis and wife Pam (Hatley) Eudy of Monroe, NC; and four grandchildren, Morgan & Caleb Carpenter and Adam & Hunter Eudy. He is also survived by sisters, Ruby (Don) Sloop of Chesterfield, SC, Barbara (Mickey) Slack of Marshville NC and Evelyn Miller of Charlotte; brothers, Curtis (Debbie) Eudy of Monroe and Gene Eudy of Charlotte. He also leaves behind scores of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family would like to extend special thanks to cousin, Marcia Freeman, for her care and assistance during the past few years. Grady was preceded in death by his parents and his infant daughter, Martha Carol Eudy. Grady enjoyed a successful career of over 25 years with Teledyne Allvac in Monroe as a titanium purchasing agent. He graduated from Wingate High School in 1955 and served in the US Navy as radar specialist for two years following high school. Grady had been a lifelong resident of Monroe before suffering a stroke 21 years ago and building a handicapped accessible home in Jefferson, SC. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. Other than watching his grandchildren’s various activities, he loved hosting “fishing days” and “fish fries” for family and friends at his pond. A funeral service to celebrate Grady’s life will be held Tuesday January 6th at 3 pm at Macedonia Baptist Church in Monroe with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service in the church fellowship hall from 1:30-3:00. The family suggests memorials be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, 610 Macedonia Church Road, Monroe NC 28110.
