He was associated with the Pacolet Manufacturing Co. before retiring several years ago. He was the son of the late Judson and sSara Bryant Carter and a member of Pacolet Mills Baptist Church. Carter of Spartanburg; two daughters, Mrs. Prentice Cook and Mrs. Jann Thornton, both of Pacolet Mills; three sisters, Mrs. Ben Hogan and Mrs. Harvey White, both of Pacolet Route 1, and Mrs. Addie Sullivan of Pacolet Mills; and 19 grandchildren. Funeral survices will be conducted at Pacolet Mills Baptist Church Thursday at 4:30 p.m. by the Revs. Robert Ivey, James Crocker and W. T. Tate, Burial will be in White Rose Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roy and Ernest White, Ralph and William Hogan, Perrin and Carol Sullivan and Hoyl and Joe Carter. The body is at M. W. Bobo Funeral Chapel in Spartanburg and will be placed in the church Thursday at 1 p.m. The family is at the home.
