Breard, 66, one of the best known and highly regarded residents of Monroe, died with little warning shortly after 2 am Saturday at his home, 1400 Fairview. A physician and an ambulance were summoned but death from a sudden heart attack occurred a few minuets after he was stricken. He had been in usual health so far as known up to the time he died. Funeral arrangement were incomplete Saturday but services will be held with high mass in St. Matthew's Catholic Church some time Monday morning. Mr. Breard was a lineal descendant of a prominent family who were among the founders of the present city of Monroe. He had spent his life here and was active in the growth and development of the city. He inherited his share of large real estate holdings and had only a few months ago erected a find new home, one of the choicest in the city, at 1400 Fairview. While deeply interested in new realty development here, he continued to serve as salesman of office supplies for a Houston, Texas, firm - his area being throughout northeast Louisiana. Like other member of the Breard family, he was a staunch supporter of the Catholic Church, being a life-long member of St. Matthew's. He is survived by his wife, who was before is marriage, Miss Alyce Hill Breard; a ten-year old daughter, Anne Breard; a son, Graham Curry Breard of Los Angeles, California.
