Description	:	Grant Anderson, son of James and Jane Anderson was born at Bedford county, Penn., August 22, 1866, and departed this life February 22, 1937 at the age of 70 years and 6 months. In April 1867 he, with his parents, came by oxen team to Seward County and homesteaded 2 1/2 miles west of Seward where he endured the many hardships of pioneer life. On September 11, 1893 he was married to Olive Ada Shattuck, who passed away April 1, 1921. In 1901, he, with his family, moved to Anoka, Minnesota, where he resided seven years, then returned to Seward where he spent the remainder of his life. Although his health has been failing for the past several years he has been active until the last. Besides his two children he leaves to mourn his passing, one granddaughter, Ardath Borg, two sisters, Mrs. Emily McKay and Mrs. Mary Foster both of Seward; three brothers, Scott Anderson of Langley, Washington, Calvin and George of Seward, one brother and three sisters having preceded him in death. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Rev. Siverson gave the sermon. Miss Ethel Woolley sang, accompanied by Mrs. Dewey Curtis. Interment was in the Anderson cemetery. Seward Independent, Seward, NE, Thurs, March 4, 1937 Judge Corcoran held a short session of court Monday and granted a divorce to Grant Anderson from Ada Anderson.
