He was a brother of Mrs. Fleta Siegrist of West Point, Iowa, wife of Walter Siegrist. He was an employee of the Iowa State Penitentiary for many years and for the past several years has been the mail censor. Also: G. L. Wayland, Fort Madison---Granville Lee Wayland, president of district one of the Loyal Order of Moose, died at Sacred Heart hospital at 4 a.m. Jan. 16. He was 57 years old and had been a patient in the hospital since Jan. 13. Wayland was a mail censor at the Iowa State penitentiary. A life resident of Fort Madison, Wayland was the son of Edward and Ida Arnold Wayland, and was born Nov. 18, 1895. On Feb. 1, 1928, he was married to Myrtle A. Griffith at Carthage, Ill. In addition to the Moose lodge, Wayland belonged to the Christian Church, the American Legion, the Forty-and Eight, the Izaak Walton league and the Legion of the Moose. Surviving are the widow; a son, Robert Lee Wayland, Roseville, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Stanley King, Fort Madison, a sister, Mrs. Walter Siegrist, West Point, and three grandchildren. Last rites will be held at Clements' chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. A. L. Bradbury, pastor of First Christian church, will officiate, and burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Granville Lee Wayland, 57, 617 1/2 Avenue E, died at 4 a.m. today in Sacred Heart hospital. He underwent an operation Tuesday. Born here Nov. 18, 1895, he was a lifelong resident. He was married to Myrtle A. Griffith on Feb. 2, 1928, at Carthage. He belonged to the First Christian church. H worked as a mail censor at the state prison. The deceased was first district president of the Loyal Order of Moore and also belonged to the Legion of Moose. He was a past commander of the local American Legion post, a member of the Forty and Eight, and a member of the Izaak Walton League. Survivors include his widow; one son, Robert, Roseville, Mich.; one daughter, Mrs. Stanley King, local; one sister, Mrs. Walter Siegrist, West Point RR; and three grandchildren. The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Clements Chapel with the Rev. A. L. Bradbury officiating. Burial will be in Soldiers' Circle of Oakland cemetery. There will be military rites by the American Legion and the V. F. W.
