Following cremation at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home & Crematory Memorial Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 13 at the Pursel-Davis Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Bobby Shomo officiating. Burial followed the services at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown. Gregg was born November 26, 1950 in Marshalltown, Iowa the son of Bernard "Red" and Shirley (Smith) Kenner. Gregg was raised and educated in Marshalltown where he graduated from the Marshalltown High School with the Class of 1969 and later attended Marshalltown Community College. Gregg was united in marriage to Jean Bennett on December 12, 1973 in Mapleton, Iowa. Following their marriage they made their home in Marshalltown where Gregg was employed by US West Communications as a Special Services Technician. Gregg retired from US West in 2001 after thirty years of service and was a member of the "Telephone Pioneers". Gregg loved to read and listen to all types of music. Gregg also enjoyed running the country gravel roads with his cousin Chris. Gregg is survived by his wife Jean of Marshalltown, his son Ben (Tanya) Kenner of Marshalltown, his son Lee Kenner and his fiance, Heather Schultz both of Des Moines, his two grandchildren Sydney and Spencer Kenner of Marshalltown, his mother Shirley of Marshalltown, his brother Kim (Joyce) Kenner of Fayetteville, North Carolina, his nephew Brian Kenner and niece Diana Kenner both of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Gregg was preceded in death by his father Bernard "Red" Kenner, his grandmothers Gladys Smith and Bernice Kenner and his uncle Ralph Kenner.
