Description	:	Gregory (Greg) Miedema died in his home July 16, 2018 in Windsor, Colorado after a long and valiant battle with cancer. He was 56 years of age. Greg was born August 26, 1961 in Huron SD to his parents Ed and Geraldine (Gruver) Miedema. He grew up in Springfield SD where he graduated from High School and developed a lifelong love for the building construction trades. Read More	Gregory (Greg) Miedema died in his home July 16, 2018 in Windsor, Colorado after a long and valiant battle with cancer. He was 56 years of age. Greg was born August 26, 1961 in Huron SD to his parents Ed and Geraldine (Gruver) Miedema. He grew up in Springfield SD where he graduated from High School and developed a lifelong love for the building construction trades. He married Linda Knoll in 1980 and through that union his daughter Traci was born in 1981. He started his own contracting business in Avon SD and then moved to Arizona where he established Dakota Builders in Tucson. He later graduated from Colorado State University with his Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Leadership. He was an advocate of the Building trades, via The Professional Remodeler's Association and Home Owners association both in Southern Arizona and Northern Colorado. He served in a leadership capacity both at the state and national level. He had a passion for his work and the community he served. He will be remembered fondly for his impeccable work ethic and quick wit, and for his love of wine and dinosaurs. Greg is survived by his daughter Traci, Ed and Marella Miedema of Rapid City SD, his siblings Jeff (Suzanne) Miedema, Steve (Deb) Miedema and Jennifer (Jody) Genant along with many loving nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Spike. He was preceded in death by his mother Geraldine (Gruver) Miedema. At Greg's request, his body will be donated to medical research to the advancement of science. A private family memorial service and internment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
