Description	:	Gretchen Louise Eden was born at Marne, Germany, on February 10, 1891, the daughter of John and Wilhelmina Johnsen Eden. She grew up and attended school in Germany before moving to the United States and settling in the Davenport area with her parents at the age of fourteen. in 1910 they moved to the Adair area. Gretchen was married to Henry F. Gebers on April 24, 1912, at the home of her parents north of Adair. they farmed north of Adair until retiring to Adair in 1964. She was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and... Read More	Gretchen Louise Eden was born at Marne, Germany, on February 10, 1891, the daughter of John and Wilhelmina Johnsen Eden. She grew up and attended school in Germany before moving to the United States and settling in the Davenport area with her parents at the age of fourteen. in 1910 they moved to the Adair area. Gretchen was married to Henry F. Gebers on April 24, 1912, at the home of her parents north of Adair. they farmed north of Adair until retiring to Adair in 1964. She was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a charter member of the LWML in 1918. She had maintained her own home until moving to the New Homestead in 1989. Surviving are one sister, Ida Nelsen, who lives at the Atlantic Care Center in Atlantic; Nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Henry in 1977; one brother, Herman Eden; and four sisters, Tina Carstens, Tracy Ernst, Emma Varvirie nd Amanda Geisler.
