Description	:	Grover Mathew Porter was born to his loving caring parents James William and Emma A. (Gossard) Porter on Saturday July 2, 1887 on a farm near Pleasant Valley, Dodge County Nebraska. My research found no information on Grover's childhood or schooling. In 1900 he moved with his family to a farm just east of Webster, Dodge County where he called home the remainder of his life. Read More	Grover Mathew Porter was born to his loving caring parents James William and Emma A. (Gossard) Porter on Saturday July 2, 1887 on a farm near Pleasant Valley, Dodge County Nebraska. My research found no information on Grover's childhood or schooling. In 1900 he moved with his family to a farm just east of Webster, Dodge County where he called home the remainder of his life. Grover was united in marriage to Johanna Haye on Tuesday December 28, 1915, they were blessed over the years of marriage with three sons and two daughters. The Porter were first members of Zion Lutheran and later transferred to St. John Ridgeley Lutheran. Grover was a prominent farmer and cattle feeder. For many years he was a director of the Scribner First National Bank, Dodge County, he served as the bank president. Grover served many years on his local school board too. Sadly Grover passed away on Wednesday morning November 13, 1963 at the Fremont Dodge County Hospital after failing health for two years. Grover was 76 years, 4 months, 11 days of age which does not include his last day, he lived a total of 27,892 days. Grover's visitation was held Friday evening November 15, 1963 from 7p to 9p at the Wollmer and Warne Funeral Home of Hooper, Dodge County then at noon to 1:30p before his funeral service on Saturday afternoon November 16, 1963 at the St. John Ridgeley Lutheran Church with Pastor Harian Brel officiating. Grover was interred in the Ridge Cemetery of Fremont, Dodge County. Grover's information was provided from researching many resources and my memory.
