Description	:	Funeral Saturday at Rutland for Mrs. Chris (Gurina) Hacker. Mrs. Chris (Gurina) Hacker, 54, who lived on a farm between Bradgate and Ottosen, died Wednesday morning, Oct. 8, 1947 at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge. She had been taken to the hospital by her son Richard. The cause of death is not definitely known, but it is believed she had just undergone a surgical operation. She had been a patient in the hospital for 10 days prior to her death. Funeral Services will be held Saturday afternoon, Oct. 11, 1947 at 2 p.m. at the Trinity... Burial will be in Washington Cemetery at Havelock, IA. The Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt is in charge of the arrangements. So, if it's not too much to ask, Dear Lord, please offer her some task. Let her keep busy, for we know That she will be much happier so! --Rowena Cheney She had been an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, north of Rutland, and was a past member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mallard, IA. She had been raised in the Danish Lutheran Church of Rolfe, IA where her family had been charter members. Nain Lutheran Church of Rolfe, merged with Trintiy Lutheran of Rolfe, and is now known as St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rolfe, IA. She was the daughter of Neils and Nickolena (Johansen) Truelsen. Died of complications from infection after Goiter surgery. She was a very kind, sweet, loving, and caring person. Loved to cook in the kitchen, especially baking was her favorite. The Lord also blessed her with the gift of music as she could play the piano very well and beautifully. A kind Christian soul to all she knew. She's Lovingly Remembered by her husband, Chris; her children, Fred, Helen, Marion, Virgil "Virg", Richard "Dick," Donald "Don," and Darvin; siblings, James Truelsen, and Christina White. She joins in Heaven her parents, Neils and Nickolena; brothers, Hans and Henry; infant son, Eugene; and many other Loved Ones. Saturday Night Placing the little hats all in a row, Ready for Church on the morrow you know; Washing wee faces and little black fists, Getting them ready and fit to be kissed. Putting them in clean garments of white, This is what Mothers are doing tonight. Spying out holes in little worn hose, Laying by shoes that are worn the toes; Looking through garments so faded and thin, Who but a Mother knows where to begin! Changing a button to make it look right This is what Mothers are doing tonight. Calling the little ones, all around her chair, Hearing them lisp forth their evening prayer; Telling them stories of Jesus of old, He loved to gather the lambs to his fold. Hearing, they listen with wondering delight This is what Mothers are doing tonight Placing her darlings all snugly in bed, After the happy good-nites have been said, Tucking the blankets 'round each little form, Anxious to know if the children are warm. Kissing each wee face, all rosy and bright, This is what Mothers are doing tonight. Kneeling down softly beside the wide bed, Lowly and reverently she bows her head; Praying as only a Mother can pray God-guide and keep them from going astray.
