Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Orangeburg is in charge of the service. Mrs. Austin was born June 30, 1923, in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late Marion W. Stroman and Gussie Till Stroman. She was a member of the White House United Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class, she taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the choir, a member of the United Methodist Women, the Young At Hearts, and various other positions in the church. She was a Stanley Home Products Agent for over 40 years. She was the widow of the late Henry Timrod Austin, Sr. She was a loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother and a friend to all who knew her. Survivors include her children, Patricia Pardue, Susan and Roy Zeigler, H. T. and Donna Austin, Janice and Bruce Wiles, allot Orangeburg, and Velvet and Lawton Wiles of Elloree; a sister, Miriam Burrell of Mt Pleasant; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Vann Beth Shuler, the nursing Staff of 3 East -The Regional Medical Center, and Wayne and Pam Davis for the loving care they gave to our mother. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
