The family moved from NY to Grundy Co.,Iowa aft. 1870 and then on to Minnehaha Co., SD about 1884. After the death of G. B. Hamilton in 1901, his widow married again (1914 SD to JK Garrison who d. 1922). After 1924 Clarinda & several married daughters moved to California. His only son Ransom Wesley Hamilton (1873-1966) married Margaret "Maggie" Whitmore @ SD; she died 1911. RW Hamilton and his children moved next to Grand Traverse County, MI.
