Born May 23, 1923, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late John Wyatt Lewis Edge and Minnie Alice (Powers) Edge and the husband of the late Mary Edna (Seay) Edge. Survivors include a son, Guy B. Edge, Jr. and his wife Kay of Spartanburg; a brother, Joe Edge of Clinton; a sister, Virginia Collins of Woodruff; two granddaughters, Lisa Cox of Woodruff, and Amanda Gibbs of Kings Mountain, NC; a grandson, Tim Edge of Moore; a step-granddaughter, Alicia Fulton of Inman; a step-grandson, Jason Norton of Woodruff; and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one sister and seven brothers. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at Nazareth Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. David Sutton. Burial was in the Church Cemetery. The family received friends following the committal service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to the Soup Kitchen, Second Presbyterian Church, 438 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
