Description	:	Guy C. Kimball, age 98, passed away from natural causes on August 1, 2017 at the Villa Crest Assisted Living facility where he had resided since 2009. 'Bus' as he was known to many, was born in Hooksett, NH, on September 4, 1918, a son of the late Guy C. and Laura (Cole) Kimball. He attended the Pembroke Academy in Pembroke, NH, before enlisting in the U. S. Army, serving during World War II. Kimball, age 98, passed away from natural causes on August 1, 2017 at the Villa Crest Assisted Living facility where he had resided since 2009. 'Bus' as he was known to many, was born in Hooksett, NH, on September 4, 1918, a son of the late Guy C. and Laura (Cole) Kimball. He attended the Pembroke Academy in Pembroke, NH, before enlisting in the U. S. Army, serving during World War II. He fought bravely alongside Allied Forces on the beaches of Normandy, France, in the battle known as D-Day. He returned home following the war, and soon after met the love of his life, Virginia Stanbrook, whom he married shortly thereafter. Bus worked at the OK Tool Company in Milford, NH for 35 years. During that time, he supported Virginia in her own ambitious educational endeavors and subsequent career. Bus and Virginia enjoyed years of travelling around the world, from the icebergs of Alaska to the street markets of Turkey, and spending time with family, including their niece and nephew. Their most memorable times were spent on Bus and Virginia's boat on Lake Winnipesauke. He will be remembered as a steadfast, generous, and stoic man who enjoyed hours of quiet solitude outdoors watching birds, tuning in to WWF wrestling, and aromatic pipe tobacco. --Published in the New Hampshire Union Leader Aug. 6, 2017.
