Description	:	Guy Herbert Kellogg was born on May 9, 1881 in Pine Island, Goodhue County, Minnesota, the youngest son on Augustus Hurlbert Kellogg and Laura Matilda Worthing Kellogg. When Guy was born, he was extremely tiny, probably several months premature, weighing only several pounds. He was so little they made him a bed in a cigar box, a tea cup fit on his head, his mothers wedding ring fit on him like a bracelet, and his mothers pointer finger was as long as his hip to foot. Read More	Guy Herbert Kellogg was born on May 9, 1881 in Pine Island, Goodhue County, Minnesota, the youngest son on Augustus Hurlbert Kellogg and Laura Matilda Worthing Kellogg. When Guy was born, he was extremely tiny, probably several months premature, weighing only several pounds. He was so little they made him a bed in a cigar box, a tea cup fit on his head, his mothers wedding ring fit on him like a bracelet, and his mothers pointer finger was as long as his hip to foot. His mother Laura, who was barely 5 feet tall, kept him between her breasts (which acted like an incubator) to keep him warm and alive. Many in the family believed that he would not live, and possibly if he had been born in the winter the outcome might have been very different. He was also wrapped in a soft warm blanket in a shoe box and placed on the door of the stove to be kept warm. When he was 3 months old (August of 1881), the family moved to Medford Township, Walsh County, Dakota Terrirory (now Fordville, Walsh County, North Dakota). He grew to manhood to be strong and capable along with his brothers and sisters. He married Hattie Henrietta Abel on June 5, 1907 in Medford Township (Fordville), Walsh County, North Dakota. Their only child Arnold W. Kellogg was born December 12, 1912 also in Fordville. Guy was a farmer, an amateur photographer, and a very good fiddle player. He played with the Fordville band for many years. He was happy and jovial and funny, and was loved by all who knew him. Guy died November 30, 1964 in Grand Forks, North Dakota and is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Fordville, North Dakota.
