Read More	MEETS HIS DEATH IN ACCIDENT Guy McIntosh Killed at His Marquette Home Last Sunday Morning By Gunshot The Marquette community was shocked last Sunday morning when news of the accidental death of Guy McIntosh, eighteen-year-old son of Mr and Mrs Robert McIntosh, spread about. The accident occurred at the home just south of town early Sunday morning as the young man was preparing to go out for a visit to his traps, which he had placed in the bluffs down near the Platte river. Just as he was preparing to leave he placed his shot-gun in the rear of the buggy. It was supposed that the gun was empty, but as Guy pushed it stock first under the buggy seat the weapon was discharged. The charge of shot entered the lower abdomen on the right side and penetrated almost entirely through his body. A younger brother who was in the yard was the first to reach the wounded man's side and assist him. As the brother reached him Guy said, "I am shot. Help me up." These were his last words. His father rushed to him, but the son was unable to speak. He died in about twenty minutes, the wound being such as to make surgical assistance of no avail. The shock was a terrible one for the father, mother and members of the family, and the entire community shares with them the sudden sorrow. The McIntosh family is among the pioneers of that settlement and count their acquaintances throughout the entire northern section of Hamilton county. The word was phoned to Aurora and James Howard took the uncle, John McIntosh, to Marquette at once. No official inquiry was necessary, since the accident occurred in the presence of members of the family, leaving no doubt as to the manner in which the young man met his death. The deceased was a bright and energetic young man, with all of life ahead of him and had earned the friendship of a very large number of people. Guy Tracy McIntosh was born at Marquette, February 17, 1900, and died at the home of his parents, Robert and Margarette McIntosh, at Marquette, December 8, 1918, aged 18 years 9 months and 21 days. He leaves to mourn his departure, besides his father and mother, eight brothers and one sister, all at home except Orville, who is serving his country in France, and Clyde, who lives in Grand Island. Funeral services were conducted at the home at 2 o'clock Tuesday by Rev I G Hopkins, pastor of the M E church of Marquette, after which the body was laid in its last resting place in the Richland cemetery. Guy had a large circle of friends who knew and loved him, and by those who knew him best he will be most deeply missed. The Aurora relatives attended the funeral service Tuesday afternoon and friends from many places in the county were there to pay their respects. Aurora Sun, Thursday, December 12, 1918
