Description	:	Gwendolyn Faith Jeffery Helmick Eden, 74, of Farmington entered into a new life at noon Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua. She was born October 17, 1934 at Winfield to Edwin and Nina Newman Jeffery. She married Charles LaMar Helmick January 7, 1952. He preceded her in death in 1988. She married Frederick John Eden August 18, 1990. He remains to cherish her memory. Read More	Gwendolyn Faith Jeffery Helmick Eden, 74, of Farmington entered into a new life at noon Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua. She was born October 17, 1934 at Winfield to Edwin and Nina Newman Jeffery. She married Charles LaMar Helmick January 7, 1952. He preceded her in death in 1988. She married Frederick John Eden August 18, 1990. He remains to cherish her memory. Gwen graduated from Donnellson High School and lived most of her life in the New Boston, Bonaparte and Farmington areas and was a member of Peaksville Christian Church, Peaksville, MO, a longtime member of the former Martha Chapter, Order of Eastern Star Montrose in which she held many offices, was currently a member of Artaban Chapter No. 483, Donnellson, and was a member of Bonaparte Red Hatters. She was a 4-H Leader for 5 years, was high school secretary and elementary teacher's associate in Central Lee school district several years and was a library assistant at Harmony High School for several years. She also was administrator of the Kings Daughters Home in Ft. Madison from 1990 until its closing. Gwen had many interests in life. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, enjoyed singing with the Jeffreys, including the Farmington Jamboree, following the activities of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, sewing, crossword puzzles, playing Bingo, yard sales, girls' week-ends and tea parties and being with her family. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Laurie Simmons (John) of Keosauqua and Wendy Buford (Jeff) of Donnellson, a son, Jeff Helmick (Bobbi) of Keokuk, a stepdaughter, Cathy Ruth (Sam) and two stepsons, Rick Eden (Cynthia) and John Eden (Dayle) all of Bonaparte, fifteen grandchildren: Justin, B.J., Kellie, Jerod, Travis, Jill, Tyler, James, Mike, Shelley, Amy, Matt, Eric, Erin and Kyle, thirteen great grandchildren: Amber, Salena, Tessa, Bree, Colton, Ben, Shanna, Dalton, Madeline, Brandon, Caylin, Baylee and Rylie; and one sister, Yvonne Hawkins (Forrest) of Montrose. In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a step-son, James and a granddaughter, Kristie.
