Description	:	KEARNEY---Gwendolyn F. "Gwen" Anderson, 79, of Pleasanton died Thursday, March 2, 2017, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney. Services will be at 10:30 a.,. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pleasanton with the Rev. Richard Piontkowski officiating. Burial will be later. Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. Tuesday followed by a Christian wake service at 6 p.m., all at the church. Gwen was born Jan. 14, 1938, to Donald W. and Bernice (Klein) Kohlscheen on the family farm near Miller. she graduated from Ravenna High School in 1955 and then attended Kearney State Teachers College where she earned BA Degree in Education. Gwen went on to teach at many rural schools in Buffalo and Sherman Counties in Nebraska, such as Pazdernik School (District 26), Union Ridge School, Siegel School and Pleasant Hill (Dist. 16). She last taught at the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center in Kearney. Gwen worked with Earl countless hours on the farm raising cattle and hogs along with gardening and cooking for many. Gwen loved being able to give to others whether it be vegetables from her garden or some sort of baked goods. She knew your favorite. She later worked a variety of jobs that included the Ramada Inn, Pleasanton Livestock, Goodwill Industries and also Hobby Lobby. Gwen was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pleasanton. Surviving relatives include her husband, Earl of Pleasanton; brother, Russel Kohlscheen of Hewitt, Texas; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Sharon DeNeui of Pleasanton, Carrol and Bob Supanchick of Hazard, LuEtta Anderson of Lincoln and Joan Anderson of Waterloo, NY, and several nieces, nephews and other extended family. Gwen was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Darrel Kohlscheen; parents-in-law, Ray and Margaret Anderson; sister-in-law, Joan Kohlscheen; stepfather, Charles Moberg; and several other brother-in-law and sister-in-law.
