Gwendolyn Samo was born October 12, 1921 in Marshalltown, Iowa, to parents Jack and Tressa (Hartman) Samo. She attended rural school in the Marshalltown area. She married to Eldon Thornton and they were the parents two children. She married Arthur Lacina in Traer, Iowa, June 27, 1957. They were the parents of one child. Gwendolyn Samo was born October 12, 1921 in Marshalltown, Iowa, to parents Jack and Tressa (Hartman) Samo. She attended rural school in the Marshalltown area. She married to Eldon Thornton and they were the parents two children. She married Arthur Lacina in Traer, Iowa, June 27, 1957. They were the parents of one child. Gwen lived in rural Gladbrook and was a farm wife and a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, embroidery. You would often find her on her lawn mower mowing the lawn or on her Ford tractor. Survivors include her children Kay (Paul) Snyder, Bill Thornton, and Vickie Lacina; grandchildren William Thornton, Travis (Lisa) Thornton, and Ron (Kim) Snyder; and great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Lacina; parents Jack and Tressa Samo; and sister and brother-in-law Marvel and Wayne Wilkens.
