Mr. Schrepel took over the reins of the Pawnee City instrumental music department in 1931, and built it into one of the best bands in the state regardless of size of town or class of school. Mr. Schrepel took over the reins of the Pawnee City instrumental music department in 1931, and built it into one of the best bands in the state regardless of size of town or class of school. As a testimony to his ability to produce top band organizations, the Pawnee City band received its 33rd consecutive Superior rating this past spring in the district contests. The most recent highlight of his outstanding career was the dedication of a new $5,000 band stand this summer. Previous to that, Mr. Schrepel and the Pawnee City band were honored when they were chosen the Nebraska high school band to represent the state at Nebraska Day at the New York World Fair in 1965.
