Hallie's Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Donnie Chandler officiating. Interment will follow at Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. A Rockingham County native, Hallie was born March 1, 1915 the daughter of Walter Holt and Eliza Shular Holt. She resided in Mayodan for 82 years. A Rockingham County native, Hallie was born March 1, 1915 the daughter of Walter Holt and Eliza Shular Holt. She resided in Mayodan for 82 years. Hallie was of the Baptist faith and retired from Washington Mills with over 35 years of service. In addition to her parents, Hallie was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Taylor Gibson; son, James Tyrone Gibson, Sr.; sisters, Effie Clay Owens and Lucy Lee Manuel; brothers, Dillard Holt and Carlton Holt. Hallie is survived by her daughters, Doris G. Dodson and husband, Leroy of Madison and Gayle G. Neal of Stokesdale ; sisters, Mary Fain of Reidsville Loretta Holland and husband Billy of Stoneville; brother, Curtis Holt of Greensboro; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to www.rayfuneralhome.com. The Gibson family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Jacob's Creek Nursing Center for their kindness and care.
