Read More	BOBBITT, HANNAH ANNA—Mrs. Hannah Bobbitt passed away at her home in Geneva, Neb., Saturday evening February 19, 1949, on her eighty-third birthday. She had been in poor health for some time, but was able to be around until about a month ago. She was the last surviving widow of a Civil War Veteran in Fillmore county as far as known. Hannah Anna Cole was born in Ohio, February 19, 1866. She spent her early life in Ohio, attending school in a dug-out school house. Her teacher was an uncle. She came with her parents to Nebraska when nine years of age. The family settled in Clay county. She was united in marriage to George W. Bobbitt at Fairfield Neb., September 27, 1885, at the home of the bride's parents, Rev. J. C. Hazey officiated. Mr. and Mrs. Bobbitt resided in Clay county few years after their marriage, and then located in Kansas. From there they moved to Fillmore county, which continued Mrs. Bobbitt's home the rest of her life. Mr. and Mrs. Bobbitt were the parents of nine children, three of whom died in infancy. One son, Ralph, passed away in 1937. Mr. Bobbitt died in 1931. Many years ago Mrs. Bobbitt became a Christian and united with the Free Will Baptist church of Geneva, to which she gave her devotion and service. After the cessation of this church's activities, she manifested her interest in the United Brethren church and rendered service as long as her health permitted. She was a loyal friend and neighbor, ever desirous of sharing that which she had with those about her. She, with many pioneer women of her day, labored well to build paths and clear highways for the feet of her posterity. She is survived by one son, Cecil of Medford, Ore., four daughters, Mrs. Grace Ricketts of Exeter, Mo., Mrs. Ruth Smith of Hastings, Mrs. Blanche Lenz of Kensington, Kas., and Mrs. Beryl Dooley of Omaha, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Irene Bobbitt of Geneva, one sister, Mrs. Edith Hudson of Dawson, Okla., thirty-seven grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren, many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Geneva Evangelical United Brethren church at 2 p. m. Tuesday, February 22. Rev. Maude V. Mann officiated. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
