Description	:	Hannah Christina Newby, 89 the daughter of Andrew and Christina Myrtue, was born in Denmark on August 29, 1862. She came to the United States when sixteen years of age and lived with her parents in Shelby County until 1882, when she was united in marriage to Adelbert Quick. To this union two children were born; Walter, who preceded his mother in death and Oscar Quick from Council Bluffs. Read More	Hannah Christina Newby, 89 the daughter of Andrew and Christina Myrtue, was born in Denmark on August 29, 1862. She came to the United States when sixteen years of age and lived with her parents in Shelby County until 1882, when she was united in marriage to Adelbert Quick. To this union two children were born; Walter, who preceded his mother in death and Oscar Quick from Council Bluffs. Mrs Newby spent her early married life west of Harlan, in Crawford county and later moved to Harlan. Sometime after the death of Mr Quick she was married to William Newby who also preceded her in death. In 1945 Mrs Newby moved to Council Bluffs where she made her home with her son Oscar. Here she remained until the past three months, during which time she lived in a nursing home in Council Bluffs. Death came on Thursday, Decebmer 6, following a cerebral hemorrhage. She was a member of the Harlan Methodist church and the Rebekah Lodge of Harlan. Mrs Newby is survived by her son, Oscar, 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren. Services were held Saturday afternoon at the Schack funeral home with Rev. Lawrence Beals in charge. Burial was in the Harlan Cemetery.
