Read More	OBITUARY OF HANNAH ELIZABETH (Hanson) JUNSO Born: 26 October 1880 Died: 27 October 1923 Again the grim reaper of death has visited our community and called from our midst a well beloved mother, and in her passing, we are reminded once more of the uncertainty of life and that death is sure to come and we must go upon that journey from whence no one ever returneth. Mrs. Hannah Elizabeth Junso was born in Calumet, Michigan on October 26, 1880. At the age of four years, she came to Norden Township, Hamlin County, South Dakota and grew to womanhood upon the homestead which her parents settled upon. On December 18, 1897, she was married to Peter O. Junso and the same year she, with her husband, went to Rolla, North Dakota, where they filed upon a claim and made it their home until they proved up in 1899. The same year, they came to Florence Township, Hamlin County, South Dakota, and settled upon a farm in Florence Township, where she lived the rest of her life. To this happy union fourteen children were born: Anna (Mrs. Henry Sprucelake) residing near here, William, Mayme, Edwin, Lillian, Hjalmer, Richard, Harold, Myrtle, Elmer, Sadie, Allen, Roland and Doris, all of whom are home. Truly a splendid and happy family of children, which blessed this union. The cause of Mrs. Junso’s death was an operation performed on her for goiter, at the St. Barnabas Hospital at Minneapolis, Minnesota, which operation developed into ether pneumonia, from which she died on October 27, 1923, two days after the operation, at an age of 43 years and one day. The deceased is survived by her husband and fourteen children, one sister, Mrs. John Isaacson of Lake Norden, South Dakota and three brothers, Paul Hanson of Detroit, Michigan, Peter Hanson of Canada and Hilmer Hanson of Lake Norden, South Dakota, all of whom were present at the funeral and who deeply mourn the loss of a kind wife, mother and sister. On November 1, a large concourse of relatives and friends gathered at the home of the deceased, where the funeral procession formed and wended their way to the Finnish Lutheran Church, where the last sad funeral rites were performed. Rev. Merijarvi of Ely, Minnesota spoke words of consolation and hope to the sorrowing relatives and friends. Rev. Allen Curtiss of Lake Preston was also present and spoke in the English language very tenderly of the departed one. After the services in the church, the mortal remains of this beloved wife and mother were taken to the cemetery and tenderly and lovingly laid in its last resting place. With the departure of the deceased, the home has lost a kind, precious and affectionate mother, the church, a true and devoted member, and the community a good friend and neighbor, and a splendid citizen. In the death and passing of Mrs. Junso, words cannot portray the splendid service which she rendered, and the sacrifices she made. If we were to collect the most beautiful words and form them into garlands of rhetoric, we would fail in our efforts to do justice to the grandeur and glory of this noble wife and affectionate mother. The beautiful memories of her who is gone, will be cherished and treasured so sweetly by all and especially by her children and husband, and the echoes of her loving voice will linger with them as she now has bid them all, “Fare ye well beloved friends, ye whose tears so fast are flowing. God for all will make amends, for his griefs are His bestowing. Mourn not joys that ne’er endure. Heavenly joys alone are sure.” The sympathy of this community is extended to the husband, children and relatives in their sad hour of sorrow and affliction.
