Hannah Forbes Hassler was one of ten children in the family of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Forbes. She was born June 8, 1887, in Dunnmanway, County Cork, Ireland. She passed away at the age of 68 years, 2 months and 8 days. She was baptized in infancy into the Catholic faith. Read More	Funeral services were held for Mrs. George Hassler Friday morning, August 19, 1955, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Exeter. Hannah Forbes Hassler was one of ten children in the family of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Forbes. She was born June 8, 1887, in Dunnmanway, County Cork, Ireland. She passed away at the age of 68 years, 2 months and 8 days. She was baptized in infancy into the Catholic faith. At the age of 25 she came to America where she made her home for two years with a sister, Mrs. Margaret O'Neil of Wyoming, Ill. She then moved to Exeter, where she lived with an aunt, Mrs. Alex McCarthy, while employed at the Smith Index Factory. September 13, 1913, she was united in marriage to George Hassler of Exeter. They made their home on a farm two and one-half miles northwest of Exeter. To this union were born four sons, John, William and Joe of this vicinity, James of Berkeley, Cal., and one daughter, Mrs. Magdalene Geiger of Fairmont. Her husband preceded her in death September 29, 1947. She leaves to mourn her departure, besides her children, eight grandchildren: Jerome, Judy and Jimmy Geiger of Fairmont, Pat, Tom and Leslie Hassler of Exeter; Mark and LInda Hassler of Berkeley, Cal.; a brother and sister in South Wales; a brother and sister in Ireland; and one sister, Mrs. Margaret O'Neil of Wyoming, Ill.; besides a host of relatives and friends. She was a long time member of St. Stephen's Altar Society and active in church work. Pallbearers were William Leif, Floyd Taylor, Walter Barkmeier, Frank Barkmeier, Raymond Ruhl and William Becker Jr. Interment was in the Exeter Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal August 1955
