Read More	Hannah Hauge Tesdall died of heart failure on Monday, March 13, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames at the age of 101 years, 2 months and 11 days. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 20, at Timberland Village in Story City with burial in Palestine Cemetery near Huxley. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 19, at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City. Hannah Hauge was born Jan. 2, 1905, on a farm north of Huxley, a daughter of Norwegian immigrants Hans and Anna Hauge. She lived her entire life in Story County. She was baptized and confirmed in Lincoln Lutheran Church in Huxley. This was a branch of Palestine Church, and when it disbanded she became a member of Palestine Church near Huxley. She graduated from Huxley High School in 1922, one of a class of five. She married Jonas Tesdall Feb. 2, 1924, in the Hauge home. This day also was the 25th wedding anniversary of her parents. To this union were born three children, Robert Wayne, Kenneth Laverne and Bonnie Louise. They farmed in the Huxley area for several years and then moved to a farm they purchased near McCallsburg. They were active members in the McCallsburg community and Bethany Lutheran Church for 30 years. Jonas died Dec. 19, 1964. Soon after that, Hannah moved to Story City, where she helped build her own house. She worked at Bethany Manor in the housekeeping department for 20 years and retired at the age of 80. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She had many hobbies. She loved to sew, tat, crochet, knit, embroider, garden and cook. Her favorite hobby was quilting. Quilts were made for all her family members as they were given as wedding gifts and baby quilts were made for all the babies. She also was a willing volunteer as she quilted at Immanuel Church and Bethany Manor and helped out at the senior center. She often taught her children and grandchildren by example rather than by words. She was a great inspiration to all. She leaves to mourn her death, her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Wayne Seydell; one daughter-in-law Joan Tesdall; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jonas; two sons, Robert and Kenneth; her parents, Hans and Anna Karina Hauge; two sisters, Ellen Kenison and Aletta Wee; one brother Ole; and two half-brothers Ben and Helmer. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Bethany Life Communities or Immanuel Lutheran Church, both of Story City.
