Read More	Flesherton Advance November 24 1898 Page 1 PORTLAW A gloom was cast over the entire neighborhood on Wednesday evening when the sad news was conveyed by telegram from Toronto of the death of Mrs John Burk who died after a very short illness caused by inflammation of the lungs. Deceased was raised in this neighborhood, she being a daughter of late Jeremiah Taylor. Eleven years ago she married Mr John Burk, also a resident of this place. They resided on their farm until about two years ago, when, on account of the failing health of Mrs Burk, they were forced to give up farming. They moved to the city where Mr Burk got a situation on the electric light works and from that time Mrs Burk's health seemed to improved greatly up to her late illness. Her remains were conveyed by train from Toronto to Proton where the funeral procession met them and conveyed them to Mount Zion cemetery, where the funeral service was conducted by the Rev Mr Plunkett. She leaves a loving husband and three small children to mourn her loss. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community.
