Strecker, 66, Lifelong Area Resident Mrs. John Jacob Strecker, 66, died at 11:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at the Ellsworth Hospital where she had been a patient about three weeks following an operation. Mrs. Strecker had been in failing health for several months. Mrs. Strecker was the former Miss Hannah Karst, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Karst, and she was born in the Bender Hill community Feb. 25, 1889. She was united in marriage to Mr. Karst Feb. 25, 1906, and there were two children born to this union, Lothar B. Strecker, of Russell, and Mrs. Anetha B. Dunkel, of the home. Mr. and Mrs. Strecker lived for many years on a farm south of Russell and in March 1944 they moved to Russell and their now home at 761 East 2nd Street. Besides her husband and two children she is survived by a brother Ferdinand Karst, of Hoisington. Also three grandchildren and two great grandchildren and many close relatives and friends. Funeral services are being held this afternoon at 1:30 from the Deines Brothers Funeral Home and from the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Milberger at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. August Pera in charge. Burial will be in the Milberger Cemetery. The Milberger Death Register for the Combined Records of the Lutheran Church in Milberger KS has an entry that reads: Hannah (Karst) Strecker died October 28, 1955, age 66 years 8 months 3 months of an operation/tumor.
