Description	:	Death came to Mrs. Hannah Lavina Cox, 88, of Rose Hill, at St. Joseph Hospital at Wichita, August 6. She had been in the hospital about seven months. She was the widow of Elvin Cox of Rose Hill. She was born at Monrovia, IL on January 26, 1876, daughter of Nathan and Dinah Hobson Davis. They lived on a farm near Rose Hill for many years. She was a member of the Rose Hill Friends Church in which she was very active. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Genevieve Winn of Howard; Mrs. Evadine Futhey and Mrs. Waldena Showalter of Rose Hill; Mrs. Rhonda Dennett of Burden; Mrs. Marcella Landon of Wichita; four sons, Kermit Cox, E. S. Cox and Victor Cox all of Rose Hill; and Vestal Cox of Wichita. 53 grandchildren; 101 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; also a sister Mrs. Effie Pitts of Wichita. Funeral services were held at 10:00a.m. Saturday from the Rose Hill Friends CHurch, conducted by Rev. Alden Pitts. Burial was in Friends Cemetery at Rose Hill with Hilyard Funeral Home of Douglass in charge. Bearers were Merrill Cox, Roger Cox, George Winn, Marion Futhey, Dennis Showalter, Dr. Dale Carr, Virgill Dennett and Vernon Dennett.
